Hello. i am currently trying to upgrade my PC to play HD-DVD's blu-ray ect...
however i cannot find a monitor for a pc that states HD... (if someone could find a HDTV pc monitor ide be very greatfull)
is this because they dont exsist or because all resonable spec monitors will play HD (given the right conections ect?)

my current monitor is a LCD 21'' widescreen with a standard VGA input. (believe its anloge).

i have also downloaded PowerDVDHD wich as a useful engine in it that lets you know what parts you need to view HD...

it states my monitor connection as analoge but with a green light next to it (red would be incompatible)

I've noticed this on many different TV sets, widescreen and regular, although it seems to get louder and deeper in pitch with a bigger TV. The noise occurs on first supplying power or coming up from standby, before the screen comes to life. They are just ordinary old-style non-flat CRTs, no difference between brands or prices.

Come to think of it, the ancient CRT monitors in the school computer lab do it too...

We have two users on our home desktop computer (both are set as administrators). For several years, we've always had separate wallpaper and screen resolution settings, but for some reason now any change one user makes happens on the other persons screen as well. This includes wallpaper, screen resolution and saved passwords for logging into VPN access. Any explanations/suggestions on how to fix this? It didn't use to be like this and is really annoying as one of us wants the screen resolution set to tiny lettering and the other wants it huge!

We just bought a Samsung flat screen monitor and every image looks HORRIBLE and distorted. Pictures and text look grainy and images that were square in shape now look rectangular. We have tried ALL the basic things, including changing the resolution, which just makes the images too small or too large while the crappy quality remains the same. I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem or has any idea how to fix it. I thought that the LCD screen would have better quality image than our old monitor, but apparently not! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

When adjusting my LCD monitor, I used to have an image that consisted of black and white dots that would take up the entire screen. Using that image, I would be able to push the auto-calibrate button on my monitor and it would use the image to calibrate the screen to a clear, viewable setting. I have since lost such an image. Does anyone know where I can get that image, if not a comparable one? Does anyone else use a similiar method to auto-calibrate their monitors?

Hello,

My nephew was on my pc today and annoyingly pressed the screen to show me the game he wanted to play. I saw that pressured had been applied like when your fingertip goes white if you press it. Could he have done any permenant damage? It's only a week old and I am paranoid about it getting damaged as I don't really know how durable it is. Thanks
