On the monitor, there should be a cable. It could be Green (which is Line Out) or it could be yellow/orange (which is also Line Out). On the back of your computer, search for the Green or Yellow/Orange outputs. After you plugged it in, go to Volume Control on your computer and make sure the "Volume" and "Wave" are raised all the way to the top. Don't close Volume Control yet. Open up Windows Media Player and start playing a song. If you hear music too loud, adjust the "Volume" bar in Volume Control. That should do the trick.

You do have the speaker cable connected from the monitor to your sound card correct? (Green to Green)

If so make sure your volume isn't muted on your PC or by your monitor controls.
