You should turn off the monitor whenever you leave your computer. You don't need to shut off the computer itself everytime but usually once a week or so is good for it as well.

No, it's fine. I'm actually surprised to see and enduser that understands that shutting the monitor isn't shutting down the computer. Most of us do NOT like sleep or suspend mode, and certain aps will error when coming out of those modes, but it will not hurt your computer long term.

Not at all. However, if it is a CRT monitor(the big TV looking ones) it can wear out just a little bit earlier. But the computer could care less.

turning off the monitor when not in use is a good thing :D, when you leave it on without doing anything for long periods of time it starts to burn the image into the screen, if anything it is a good habbit to always turn your monitor off :D

As far as I know, it wouldn't. If anything, it may harm the monitor but that's not probable

cheack in control panel that the hard disk also turn off with monitor then it can harm your computer otherwise it is good for your computer
