While im playing a game on my computer everything suddenly turns into blocks, i can still see the game, but its all blurry and everythings is in blocks. After a while my screen will freeze and my monitor will restart itself. When i restart my computer it goes back to normal.
Is this my monitor overheating? or can it be my videocard?
thanks

Ok, I hope someone can help me. I don't know what info you need as far as model type, so I am going to put in everything that is on the whole computer. I have a HP 17" Flat Panel Monitor with built in speakers, 1280x1024 @75 Hz Max resolution Analog. . HP 64 Athlon, light scribe DVD+RW drive, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Compaq Presario. OKAY, I hope someone can decphier that. Anyways, we do not have internet hooked up to this computer, never have. Only been up and running since Easter. The only thing that it has been used for is to play Sims 2 on it. Maybe an hour a day several times a week. Has a power surge protecing outlet. All plugs are tight and where they should be. Nothing loose. We shut down the computer during a storm. Unplugged main outlet. Which is our practice during a storm. After the storm plugged everything in and monitor will only come on for a second or two. Then states it is asleep. Other computer in home is working fine. Any suggstions?

I just got the Thinkpad 8741-C2U running XP, and the advanced docking station (which has one DVI and one VGA port). I also have two 20" LCD screens which support both DVI and VGA inputs.

What I'd like to do is have 3 screens. One LCD using the DVI out of the adv. dock, the other LCD using the VGA out of the adv. dock, and the 3rd screen being the Laptop screen (with the laptop docked of course). And it is setup like this now.

Problem: Either the docked laptop screen and 1 ext. LCD screen will work simultaneously, leaving the last LCD screen blank, -or- the two ext. LCDs will work, leaving the docked laptop screen blank.

I'm running XP, which only supports dual monitors... Are there any programs (under $100) or any freeware programs that can allow my setup to work?

I already tried the ThinkVantage Presentation Director from Lenovo and it doesn't have an option for 3 or more monitors.

Your help is GREATLY appreciated! :)

I am looking at the smasung Syncmaster 931C

# 19" flat-panel LCD

# 5:4 aspect ratio

#1280 x 1024 resolution SXGA

# 2000:1 contrast ratio

# 2 ms. response time

#.294 mm pixel pitch

# 16.2 million colors

Is the 2ms response time better than a higher number?
Is the contrast being 2000 that much better than say, 700?

This is frustrating..I updated all drivers and installed them properly.
The manufacturer indicated this Video card will work with widescreens if set at 60HZ which is my only choice. When I get to display I dont have 1680x1050 as a choice. The best I get is 1400x1050. Can someone help??

I have a Sharp Aquas HDTV that I would like to use a primary monitor for my Sony Vaio PCV-RX820. The TV has an S-video outlet but the computer does not, so I guess an S-video plug is out of the question. What would be the best option that would give the most clear resolution for everyday use.

Thanks!

I have a problem with my monitor on my laptop. When I turn on my computer the display screen is so dark that the only way I can see the icons is to hold the computer under a lamp. I tried the brightness keys (fn + f2) to no avail. I have connected my laptop to a desktop monitor. It works perfectly. Please help me restore my laptop monitor.
