I hooked it up already, but i can't make the screen switch over. Help please.

The laptop should have a "special" key that kinda acts like the shift key. You press this "special" key and then press the corresponding shape. For example, in order to put your latop in "Standby mode", you would hold down the "special" key and press the "Crescent Moon" key.

Look for a picture of a square box (suppossed to be a monitor). Press the special key and this key until you see the video display on the desired screen.

One possible issue is the video settings on the graphics card may have a resolution or refresh rate that is set too high for the monitor it is connecting to.

there is an output toggle on most notebooks. In some cases it is control f8, function f8 or f1. You must also toggle the input of the monitor. The onscreen menu will tell you how to do that
