My Viewsonic UltraBrite A90f+ is blinking out on me, and I paid to fix it once before. I just don't think it's worth keeping. So, I'm looking for suggestions on a flat screen LCD with comparable clarity and color accuracy, as I am a digital photography hobbyest. I'd like to get out for around $400 or better. Any suggestions

Get something that is TCO'03 certified.

LCDs have poor colour gamut compared to CRTs. TCO'03 has colour point requirements for the R G and B colour points and so will tend to have a larger colour gamut.

White colour point variation in gray scales can be an issue too. TCO specifies the allowed variation of colour in gray scales.

Find somewhere that you can actually look at the monitors. Take a memory card of some pictures with you and look at them on the monitors.
