4 monitor requirements for computer?

I am looking to purchase a new computer and want to be able to run 4 monitors on it. What hardware is needed to do this? Such as Video card, mother board, power supply, memory, etc.

You will need an SLI ready motherboard and 2 SLI video cards with the same chipset. and make sure the cards have dual outputs.

This is NOT a good idea but if youre a flight sim person or a stock broker, we understand. If youre a gamer, this willNOT help you with your game, it will hurt you. But if you do insist, make sure you have a good Power supply and good cooling on the computer. You'll have to install two vid cards. I' build my own rather than buy most systems on the market. Maybe a Dell 710, they look interesting.

There are quad head video cards available. They tend to be expensive and poor graphics acceleration.


If you get a system with multiple PCI-e slots then you could put two dual-head video cards in there.

Best is to get two identical video cards. XP does not require this, but is simplifies the drivers and they are less likely to conflict. For Vista this is a OS requirement.
