I was hooking up a different tower to my monitor and noticed that both of the plugs are male. Is there a converter I can buy?? Or will my monitor just not work with the other compter?

You must be looking at the wrong connector. Your monitor has a male plug with 15 pins that are arranged in 3 rows. Take a look at the monitor connection to your computer. If it has 2 rows, you are looking at a serial port. Just maybe your different tower does not have the standard 15 pin connector? Or maybe you are looking at DVI connector for a newer Flat Panel Montor.

I think that you will have to show us some photos. Pick out what you see at http://www.newegg.com

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Most comps have a male serial port on back, but look closely at the pins inside of the plug in. a standard serial port (male)on back of your tower has only 9 pins.
A monitor cable is also male, BUT, look at the pins, there are 15!!!!
So putting it in plain terms, you were looking at your serial port, there is another FEMALE port back there, with 15 holes in it. thats the monitor plug in. That will solve the prob.

Male to Male is the standard connection for a monitor cable, if yuor monitor is different, you do need a convertor, or your monitor is a specially made for a different graphics card.
