Have recently bought new pc with 19 in HD monitor. Something got downloaded and I had to restore to factory settings only prob is now the monitor isn't using the whole screen. It's not the rfesolution already tried. The monitor is actingly like a one of those 17 inch old monitors. Is there something that has to be changed for the pc to recognize that I'm using the HD monitor?

Sounds like you dont have the right driver for your monitor. Check that Windows has the correct monitor setup in your display properties.

Go the manufacturers site and download the latest drivers if necessary.

try to check the menu button on the monitor and adjust the horizontal and vertical settings. It may not be on the resolution setting of the video card but on the monitor itself.
