have that option? How do I fix this?

What version os are you using? Windows XP, Vista? Linux? Please specify that

In the Control Panel, go to the "Sounds...." option. Click on "Adjust system volume", and check the box that says "Place volume icon in the taskbar." The Volume icon should appear in the taskbar.

You do have that option.

Double-click on the Speaker Icon (by the clock) to change your audio settings. Click on the Help TAB for more info.

if there was a sound before so then u can go to control panel> sound settings and u can fix it, if it doesn't work then on my computer right click go to properties then in Hardware Tab, go to device manager and check on ur sound card and even u can go to properties of ur sound card to check if it's working properly.

Go to the start button, select programs:acessories:entertainment and you will see volume control there.
