i have a core 2 duo 2.0 GHz .....in my laptop ,.,.... my question is ...can i turn it on and off manually or it works automatically ???

i ve got an ACER with Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz,,,,1 GB RAM,,,120 GB Hard Drive,,,256 MB nvidia VGA

do i need more 1 GB RAM to make an overall of 2 GB or 1 GB is enough ???

Stupid Question.
What is the connection speed difference between a "B" to a "G" wireless network card?
I have a "b" card and it always reads a 11.0 MPS no matter the connection strength.
If I upgrade to a "G" wireless Card will it work with my SBC 2wire router?

I need a laptop that will last me a while. I would put music,photos and many documents on it. Do you recommend Macs or PCs? I have had a bad experience with my past laptops and I really need one that will last. Did I mention that I need it to last? I need the least amount of maintenance as possible.Asthetically pleasing would be a plus.

when i turn the thing on you can hear the fan working and the lights come on, but the screen is completely blank, after about 10 seconds it just starts continually beeping at me. If i press fn and the screen logo on the keyboard i can get a post screen telling me its trying to find ide, please does anyone know what could be wrong ?

It is ok while it is still, but once it is lifted it crashes, and a different blue screen comes up every time.
It happens most often when laptop is lifted with one hand, just holding onto left forward edge, although it can happen when holding onto both forward edges.
Just seems to cut out, and to go into blue screen.
Anyone any ideas about this strange behaviour?

It just disappeared. I've tried everything! Restart, System restore, My computer>device>etc., uninstall re-install, system recovery, updated it, and still nothing. Is there anything else I can try, or should I just take it to get repaired? (I have windows XP on my laptop.)
