It is ok while it is still, but once it is lifted it crashes, and a different blue screen comes up every time.
It happens most often when laptop is lifted with one hand, just holding onto left forward edge, although it can happen when holding onto both forward edges.
Just seems to cut out, and to go into blue screen.
Anyone any ideas about this strange behaviour?

The only thing I can guess, (and I suppose it depends on how old the laptop is, or how well-built, etc) is that when you're moving the laptop you're causing the internal parts to shift in such a way that they're either shorting out, coming unseated, or etc.

My best advice is that you need to get the laptop in to a technician that can get inside and take a look at what's going on. Since you've absolutely narrowed the problem down to physical movement, it stands to reason that it's a physical problem with the hardware, not a software issue, that's causing it.

From the description you gave, it sounds like something is shorting or a circuit board is cracked. Unfortunately, it is not going to be easy to fix.

Easy solution, place the laptop on a table, AND DON'T PICK IT UP!

your battery is probably not secured well enough so that you lose power when it shifts
