PCs are much better, more programs are readilly available for them, and they are a ton cheaper and more bang for your buck. Macs as everyone says are "virus free" thats only because they are so unpopular that noone bothers to make viruses for them because nobody has them. Hope my input helps.

By PC, do you mean one with Windwos on it? Nowadays you can probably get Mac on a PC with the new-ish Intel proccessor version. There are also a ton of other OS's that run on PC's. What you should get depends on what you plan to use it for. Slackware or Redhat Linux for a webserver, Mac for graphic design, any is fine for general usage (web browsing, email, etc.). Most programs only work on Windows, so it's good for compatability, but Linux has a good number of alternatives to Windows programs and is pretty virus-free. Mac often has official versions of programs that are for Windows, and it is a bit virus-free as well (it an Linux are like brothers with different fathers but the same mom, but no, Unix is not a whore).

Personally, I prefer a PC. I know that every program I use will most likely work on my computer and be very user friendly. Nothing is too complicated and I love it. The plus to a Mac though is you don't really have to worry about viruses. Still, PC is the way to go.

To be honest with you, the difference between the two is lessening every time Apple updates the hardware and OS. The hardware that the Mac's run on now is identical to the hardware that PC's run on. OS X still has its fair share of problems, such as program compatibility (some apps are windows only). I am running both, so it really doesn't matter to me
