The screen is slightly pixellated in places, esp where there are bright colours or lettering - can we do anything about this, such as changing th settings?

I ordered an HP laptop with a 100GB harddrive. I called asked them if I could change it to the 160GB size instead (Dual 80GB drives) but they said it already shipped and I could just send it back if its "not up to my standards". The cost difference for this upgrade is $100. Would I be better off just adding a harddrive later on (if possible) if I need more space, or is this dual harddrive thing difficult to mess with and should just send it back?

I have 256k of RAM on my laptop (yes, I'm looking to upgrade). I have figured out how to see how much RAM that the computer has, but not how much I have remaining. Can anyone tell me how to go about checking that. I've installed a couple of programs over the weekend, and now the computer is running very slow. I'm concerned I've run out of available RAM, and I have no viruses or spyware...I've already run the scans. Thank you.

Can anyone please tell me where I can get some information about this laptop. My mate bought it second hand and it stopped booting after 3 days. I got it to boot and restored the system to factory settings (i hope). He doesnt have any books and no way of contacting previous owner.

From Dell:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0
17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS
120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
8x CD/DVD burner
Duracell 90-Watt Auto/Air Adapter
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)

For $1800 out the door, tax and shipping included. I've looked around on Gateways, HP's, retail stores and even NewEgg.com. To me, a noob when it comes to notebooks, this seems like a good deal. Am I getting a good deal here? I am serious into games, and would also like to integrate this into my home theatre (to give you an idea of how I intend to use it). Should I consider any other hardware, etc?

Thanks

I`m wondering if anyone thinks there will be a price drop on the 950 with the introduction of the new quad core processors.I am finding they are disappearing off the shelves and wonder if I should just buy one or wait. Also concerned that I wont be able to get my hands on one if I don`t make a move soon.

I had a DELL Inspiron 2500 laptop, and kept the good practice of preserving the laptop battery by charging it till full capacity, unplugging the AC and using it till a fully uncharged status, but it still gone dead after 10-12 months.
