I agree with other posters. Walmart is hardly a place to buy a computer. While the price is important, specs and warranty are too. Compaq is basically HP since it’s the same company so it’s not all bad. CPU is a bit slow given what’s out these days, hard drive is ok. You’ll need more ram then 512 ( at least 1gb ) to make it a worth while machine. Because of that and lack of long warranty, I would say pass and look for something else. With the holidays coming, I am sure there will be better deals.

LOAD of bs!! No you never buy a computer for that cheap!! The best computers that are good quality or at least worth $700 to $2000 dollars. But if you cant afford to buy anything expensive then buy that. Dont buy a Dell or a Gateway those are the crappiest laptops.

That's a great deal. Just go to Dell.com and compare prices. Plus, HP (which now ownes Compaq) has phenominal customer service. I had to send mine in for a repair and they fedex'd me a special box which I put the laptop in and then call fed ex to come to my house to pick it up. it was returned 2 days later fully repaired.

If you are asking if it's worth the price then yes. Is it worth buying? Well that's up to what your uses will be. I'm going to take a wild guess and say your not a power user, so I'm sure it'll suit your needs just fine.
