I have a computer that uses on-board video, I would just like to know if I can purchase a second video card preferably AGP slot type and use it instead of the on-board video. Is this possible? Would it cause any problems? Thanks in advanced.

my computer shuts down on it own while standing in the normal position, i figured it was to hot so i took of the cover to check things out.
If i leave it on its side i have no problems, but soon as i stand it up two seconds later it shuts off. My big fan kicks on and seems to be running ok. I can leave it on its side but i dont know if that makes burning discs more difficult . Any ideas, im a little educated but confused, thanks for any help in advance.

Hi. Every time I start up my computer, it will load to the desktop screen. But only the background picture will show. None of the toolbars or shortcuts will. I can't even start it up in safe mode. I probably will end up doing a system restore, but I'd like to still save some files. Any suggestions?

Basically I started off looking at a game minimum specs (bioshock) and recommended specs when i thought i should upgrade my PC.

My PC isn't THAT bad..
2.4Ghz
1Gb Ram
360Gb Hard-drive (2 seperate)

However instead of looking into upgrading 1)my Ram 2)my CPU and 3)my Graphic, My brother told me to just looking at getting a new PC.

Now i have seen PC's on ebay that look insane ending @ about £350. When i see insane, i mean 2-4x the processing power, Ram, and graphics of my PC. I've been wondering, how do they make those so cheap? whats the catch? Is it because they don't include mouse/keyboard/monitor, etc? Do they use cheap parts (excluding the CPU)?

Has anyone bought a PC off ebay and is satisfied?

I need to know how much I should sell it for. It has an Intel core 2 duo E4400 processor, a D945GCCRL essential series intel motherboard (integrated graphics). It also has a 20x DVD burner/ 48x CD burner, 1 gb of 533MHZ Kingston memory and a 480 watt PSU. Oh yeah, and a cool black case with two front USB hubs (eight hubs USB 2.0 total). I am going to put windows xp home on it.
total cost for me: $610 (aprox.)
How much should I ask for it?
thanks for the help.

I already have a HTPC in the living rooma vista box with tuner card, 512mb dvi grafix card, 1.5MB ddr2 ram, 250gig internal and 500gb external harddrive space... so storage of files is not the major factor...

in the bedroom i have an xp box 512mb ddr ram, 160gb and 80gb internal hd, I would like to upgrade, or add a secondary PC into the bedroom set up (i want the current rig to be set up exclusively for skype, the livingroom PC does that now)

asides from the cost advantage (around $400 for xbox360 and around $600 for a vista machine) are there any advantages with going with an xbox 360 over a new vista HTPC for the bedroom... I know the xbox will act as an extender for my VMC content...

could someone provide pros and cons for using either set up...

I already plan on getting a PS3 when GTA IV comes out.. but perhaps, with an xbox360 set up I will just get the game for XBOX (there is supposed to be exclusive downloadable content for the xbox version anyway)
