I take fairly good care of my computer, but i think i managed to get a trojan of some sort on it. Latley it has been really slow, more choppy then anythign really. If im watching a video every other second it kind of freezes then goes agian. Or when i type the words don't appaer till a few seconds after i type them. ITs gettin quite bad and i'd like to fix it. I am pretty computer literate, and ive been able to fix minor issues in the past. Is this something i can do myself, or do i need to get an expert, or should i jsut by a whole new computer. Any help is appriciated.

Alright, I need to reinstall windows. Home Edition to be exact, and used the CD Key, or Product Key on the CD Folder for the setup disk. It didn't work, so I looked around for that sticker that says your product code. I used that, and it still didn't work. I even tried it backwards. Help. Please. Make my day. PLEASE.

My sister and I have been sharing the same computer for awhile now and she keeps putting pictures of Rupert Grint as the desktop background, I'm sick of it. I tried to make another account but soon found out it slowed the computer down, A LOT. So how could I lock the background?

I'm adding a new DVD burner to my 1.7Ghz, PIV system. I currently have a CD-ROM as master on the secondary. I was thinking I'd put the DVD burner as master on the secondary. Is this a good idea and should I then move the CD-ROM to slave on the primary or slave on the secondary?

Hi,

I am thinking of purchasing a new video card. The one I am looking at has the correct specs but is "dual display" . I only want to use it on a single monitor. How does this all work. I am new to this sort of stuff.

Thanks so much!

Hi,

I have a computer that I bought January of 2006. I want to start playing Flight Simulator X, and I want to get a new video card. The problem is, the video card on my computer is built into my motherboard. I want to install an ATI Radeon card and they seem to plug into a slot. My computer has empty ones for that. Will the new video card work? Please respond fast, it would be greatly appreciated!

I have an old computer I found in the closit, since I put windows ME on it, I am using it alot lately for a couple of my older games such as Diablo 2, or Starcraft. but anyways, I saw the requirements for Windows XP Home and it said 64MB but 128 MB is recommended. How well will this run, the Mhz on this thing is 553MHz.

-Thank you

My computer does not startup after the power goes out. The computer will work way later on the same day. I have a Antec case, power supply and a Asus motherboard. I think the power supply is not working properly. I built the system so I only have manufactures warranty.

My pc came with 512MB (2-256). After adding a 512MB memory module, my computer said I had 1 gig ram, but ran slower and would freeze. I have 4 dimm slots and tried to rearrange them in every conceivable configuration with no change.
The specs for my computer say:
Memory 512 MB DDR (400 Mhz), dual channel expandable to 4 GB
Memory Technology Four DIMM sockets on the motherboard that support the following:

* 2.5 V (only) DDR SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
* Unbuffered, single-sided or double-sided DIMMs with the following restriction:
Double-sided DIMMS with ×16 organization are not supported.
* 4 GB maximum total addressable system memory.
* Minimum total system memory: 128 MB
* Non-ECC DIMMs
* Serial Presence Detect
* DDR 400 MHz and DDR 333 MHz SDRAM DIMMs
* Support for dual channel memory mode

The new memory is PC3200 DDR-400/333/266.

Any ideas on what I did wrong?
