My sister and I have been sharing the same computer for awhile now and she keeps putting pictures of Rupert Grint as the desktop background, I'm sick of it. I tried to make another account but soon found out it slowed the computer down, A LOT. So how could I lock the background?

Its Windows XP btw

Hi. Here is one way http://pcwin.com/popular/Lock_my_desktop-1.htm but there are over a million ways http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=deskbar&q=lock+my+desktop+background
From one site: "If you are using XP pro, go to start...run....type this in the run box
" gpedit.msc " without the quotes.
That will open the local security policy settings. Under User Configuration, choose Administrative Templates, then under that choose Desktop. Then under that choose Active Desktop. There will be some settings in that area that i believe is what you are looking for.
If you click on the settings once, it will tell you what each one does."

Go to start-> run-> type gpedit.msc > under User configuration> administrative templates> control panel > display > on the right of the screen look for > prevent changing wallpaper> double click it and choose Enable> OK
reboot.. done.
You have to have administrative privileges or be logged in as an administrator to set that option to enable.

If you have Microsoft Vista;
you click on START at the bottom left corner
then the little arrow pointing to the right on the bottom right
and then click on LOCK

Hmmm, I don't think that is possible unless you have user permissions, like administrator account and stuff like that. This site http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Tips_Page.htm may have some info for you!

Good Luck!
