So im building a new pc and dont want to fully buy a new os, I have the CD key for the one im on now but lost the cd's. will i be able to buy the pro cd and install the os with the cd key? or will windows say its not authentic? I have the key just lost the cd's.

If i bought a cd itd come with a key yes, but on eBay i found many that didnt bring a COA and were much cheaper. They were authentic but no cd key. All i want to know is will it run properly with my CD key.

The key you have is only for one computer. Also a new key comes with the new CD you want to buy.

When you buy a Wink2K PRO Cd it will come with its own key.
You will not need the keys from the W2KCD that you lost.

That is mischannelling software and is illegal. If the one youre on is one built by a manufacturer, it wont work anyways. If it was a home build, it will probably install, but the software will phone home the first time you go onto the internet. EACH copy of windows has its own key. If it is installed on more than one machine, two uses for the same key will send up a red flag

Lol...if you "bought" a new disk it would come with a product key. Anyways, yes it will work. A key must be used many, many times to reach that point.

It won't work, the key you have only works with the CD it came with.

Just because you purchased a licence that does not necessarily entitle you to transfer it to another computer,
Best to call microsoft and ask
