I see tv ads for verison broadband for laptops with PC cards. I assume they get access through a satellite. Does any company offer it for desktops. I'm in an isolated area where I can't get cable or even a phone line.

I've looked at Sprint and Verizons websites but can't find anything.

With a Mac, you can set it to come on in the morning and shut down at night. I have no clue where to look on a PC to see if it can do the same?

I've got nearly 100 gigs of MP3's on my PC, needless to say I have extremely low disk space on my computer.

I'm a running a risk of motherboard failure?

Why are my fans always running? Even before I filled up my
computer with crap they run nearly all the time..

PS-- I have an 80 gig external also. That is also filled up with crap.

I'm thinking of buying a new computer, and I'm torn between a mac and a PC. I'll probably be using the computer for IM, internet, school-realted stuff (word processing, Ppt's, etc.), and for playing music. I'm fed up with viruses and spyware, and my current PC (4-year old HP Pavillion 716n) crashes frequently. I'll probably buy a desktop, and I'm looking to spend somewhere between $1000-$2000. Should I go with a mac or a PC?

My old motherboard isn't working and I'm unsure whether I should just get a new computer or get a new motherboard. I don't know if my processor is working.

I have had to reformat a PC which I bought as a complete package, I've put W2K on it but I dont have any of the drivers (NIC, Display, sound etc..) Its a compact PC with everything on the motherboard and no distinguishable manufacturer names on the chips or board. Is there a utility that will interrogate them and locate which drivers are required?

will more ram or another graphics card help me boost my graphics performance, my motherbaord (capable of 4gb ram) is sli ready and i already got 2GB ddr2 ram, the graphics card is a pny geforce 7300gs 256mb. ive check the website and it says that its sli ready but in the box that in came it dont say anything about sli ready.( http://www.pny-europe.com/uk/verto_gf7_7300_gs.asp ). oh and because the current specs that my computer is got, and i still cant get games (like ghost recon advance warfighter) to run in full graphics without a bit of lag, well when i use ani-aliasing 16x. sry i hope all that makes sense, any advice will be helpful.
