I have had to reformat a PC which I bought as a complete package, I've put W2K on it but I dont have any of the drivers (NIC, Display, sound etc..) Its a compact PC with everything on the motherboard and no distinguishable manufacturer names on the chips or board. Is there a utility that will interrogate them and locate which drivers are required?

Download Belarc Advisor. This gives a comprehensive listing of all the hardware in your computer, and it's free.

You can then download drivers from either the manufacturer's own websites or go to somewhere like DriverGuide. You have to register, but it's free, and they do lots of drivers ... even for older stuff.

Try running Windows Update, sometimes it will update your missing drivers.

Try downloading Everest Ultimate - it's trial version but it will provide you with links for your hardware.
