Well you will not be able to play full DirectX10 games with the current cards. Don't worry though, they will release games with patches for probably 2 years at least to make them compatible with old cards. But to get the benefits of DirectX10, you HAVE to have a DirectX10 card.

Yup... It will improve the performance of the shader and bla bla bla... then afterwards, there will be a DirectX10 compatible VGA card, which will "fully" supported the features in DirectX 10.....

DirectX 10 or DirectX Next as it mite be called is goin to have a completely different architecture. the GPUs under Dx 10 will have support for Shader Model 4.0 (SM 4.00) and will have a proposed unified shader architecture, which means it will contain the pixel, vertex and geometry shaders in one place which wil thereby increase speed. this is for ATi cards and as far as nVidia cards go, they will support SM4.0 but will have separate architectures for each of the shaders.
