I am 100% sure that nice kid is 100% wrong. All 184pin will work in a 184 pin slot, that does not mean you will get the full speed though. If you mix two speeds, you will always get the lower speed, and if your motherboard only supports a certain speed, that is the speed you will get.

Yes the PC2700 DDR RAM 184 pin is compatible with the PC2100 184 DDR RAM 184 pin. The memory is backwards compatible which means when you install the memory the PC2700 will clock itself down to the 266mhz speed for the PC2100 which your pc supports. Just double check on the back of the Memory product when you get it that it has backwards compatibility with PC2100 and you will be fine.

YES - They will be compatible. Bear in mind that the faster PC2700 memory (333mhz) will run at the slower rate of 266 mhz...

yes, faster DDRAM will simply run at the slower speed. No great loss...
Try some speed, like a possible 50X boost. Run a liveCDrom of Linux. http://pclinuxos.com and let yourself enjoy some of the 5500 games and programs.

I'm about 90% sure it will NOT work. The type of RAM type is determined by the PC**** number if I remember correctly.
