will more ram or another graphics card help me boost my graphics performance, my motherbaord (capable of 4gb ram) is sli ready and i already got 2GB ddr2 ram, the graphics card is a pny geforce 7300gs 256mb. ive check the website and it says that its sli ready but in the box that in came it dont say anything about sli ready.( http://www.pny-europe.com/uk/verto_gf7_7300_gs.asp ). oh and because the current specs that my computer is got, and i still cant get games (like ghost recon advance warfighter) to run in full graphics without a bit of lag, well when i use ani-aliasing 16x. sry i hope all that makes sense, any advice will be helpful.

ok,ram is ok so DON`T upgrade the ram-as for the problem bying a new graphic card would greatly resolve your problem,,i would say Ati X1900 series (any model-ok the more you pay the more you get) or if finance is limited then ATI again maybe an X1650 or even X1300XT they are all crosfire ready (like SLI with nVidia)...o by the way you did not mention the CPU model and rate so that could be also an problem but not as the graphics...so more details you give more acurate the problem will be located (like...CPU model, mainboard, graphics, ram model and type...etc..)

If your motherboard is SLI-ready, then I suggest another 7300gs.
I have the same graphics card but when you have 2GB RAM, it will support 512MB, so you really don't need another anything.
I have one 7300gs and 1GB RAM and Ghost Recon and games like half-life 2 and Doom 3 work perfectly on highest resolution / graphics, so your graphics card might be faulty or not well ventilated.

RAM can't boost your graphics performance anymore.
if you want to know your VGA is SLI or not, just check the upper side of your VGA card, 2 VGA card for SLI is connected in the upperside with some kind of 'bridge'.
check this site for SLI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Link_Interface
SLI didn't always improve games performance, it's depend on the game coding, http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/02/vga_charts_viii/page20.html
my computer use single NVDIA 7600 GT to play Ghost Recon, and the performance is not too good.
so if you want to buy a new VGA, choose between NVDIA 7800 GT or 7900 GT
btw : don't buy ATI, I lost $200 on ATI

I'm afraid Saymine has made another blunder. The PCI-e video card that you already have is faster than AGP, as I'm sure you're already aware.
I can't explain why your graphics performance isn't 'up to scratch'. You certainly wouldn't need more than 2GB RAM.
Do you make sure that you turn off any unnecessary programs before you run your games? Things like anti-virus software running in the background can have a detrimental effect.

You dont need any more RAM please, dont fry the system.
The vga card is equally ok but it has a limitation, the PCI slot its using. If your computer comes with a AGP slot. Try and get a VGA card that uses a an AGP slot. PCI slots are meant for numerous add-on cards for the system and thereby are set on the average settings and does not adequate allocation of memory from the CPU and RAM proportionately especially to support superb vga cards like yours.
Where as, AGP slots have direct RAM access and also acesses the CPU much more faster that is where it earns its name Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP).
I also committed a blunder like yours too.

wel!!! ur board is an intel one! and it is basd on the 945P chipset!, not a bad config but an AMD would be better. first of all, the nVidia 7300GS chipset is one which supports TurboCache, ie: it can use the onboard memory as VRAM, THIS IS IN NO WAY EQUIVALENT TO ONBOARD RAM ON THE GRAPHIC CARD, so i would suggest that you get a GPU based on the nVidia 7600GS/GT/GTX chipset. these are mid range chipsets and provide excellent preformance and these are SLi capable. so go ahead and give it a shot!

Your PC is fantastic for gaming but that graphics card.....oh dear.
1st of all chuck that graphics card in the bin, it's only good enough for office applications........OK, done that? good!
Now go and buy a decent graphics card, if you want an Nvidia card get at least a 7600gt (preferably a 7900gt) , if you want an ATI get at least a Radeon 1800xt.
I have an ATI Radeon 1900XTX, which I got for a bargain at £200, it replaced a Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX which cost me £400, The ATI is faster in everyway!! Using fraps in GRAW I get an average of 42FPS at a screen resolution of 1680x1050, if I drop the resolution to 1024x768 I get 90FPS.
