I am trying to get a kind of old computer (hp compaq d530 cmt) to run again after sitting around for a while, but when ever I plug in the power cord in the back and go to turn it on, it just starts flashing the red light on the computer and starts making an annoying beeping sound. Any Ideas what this could mean, HP's website didn't offer any help!

I am not very familiar with the relationship between monitors and graphics cards (since i do not have a graphics card). I need help in getting the right kind of graphics card that would successfully support a samsung LCD monitor (1920 by 1200). If it helps, I have Windows XP.
Can I use nvidia?

Practically every cartridge I've ever gotten for this printer winds up dried out, and printing with a lot of breaks in the lines, etc. HOW do I stop them from drying out? Those cartridges ain't cheap!!

I probably should mention I don't have occasion to print very often.

I have a US model MP530 that I put new ink into. I swapped the old ink chips to the new ink tanks and the printer (or printer driver) still sees the ink tanks as empty.

I'm sure I have to unplug it, hold a button and lift a leg while I turn it on, but does anyone know the TRIED and TRUE method for clearing the ink memory?

A link will give you bonus points.

Help please. overnight my computer broke down, when turning on the comp its gives me a blank screen with the following on top left had corner "error operating system problem" or so. I am a student i need to get this fixed asap due to homework it doesnt not matter if i dont recover any data or files i just need it working back. any one has an idea of what the problem error means. by the way if it has to do with the hard drive am willing to buy a new one for it will it work with new hard drive. the reason am going for the hard drive is because am willing to make it work as quick as possible besides it will turn a 30gb hard drive onto what ever i buy. help please by the way its a desktop. please solve my problem am a student and i need the internet running for homework asap. I hear about "the blue screen of death" all the time, but I've never really known what it was, cause I've never gotten one before.

But, I think I just got one. I was just browsing the internet and a blue screen came up with an error message like "windows has shut down because of something...blah blah blah...check hard disk...blah blah"

I restarted the laptop, and everything is fine. Everything seemed fine before it blue screened.

But....does this mean everything is NOT fine? Is there something wrong with my laptop? Is it going to keep blue screening or was it just a one time thing? It's only like a month old, it can't die on me this soon! :(

Does the deleted data from the hard disk go to the atmosphere? Though I have a 80 GB hard drive, I would have deleted at least 500 GB of data till date i.e. store something, access it and if not required, delete it.. So, I was wondering where does all these deleted data go? Are there no space constraints for the deleted data? Just curious.

i had a virus on my laptop. I used my sisters boot disk to re-install windows xp because i bought my computer from a pawn shop so it didnt come with one. the thing is...now my computer wont get online. I went to system requirements lab and test my computer to see if I could play a certain game... I need 2 GHz to play and I only have 1.6, however it said that mine performs at 2.8 GHz. How is that possible, and what does that mean? I don't think I have a "dual core" but then again I really don't know to much about computers. lol. If it "performs" at 2.8, does that mean that it can support the game??
