I hear about "the blue screen of death" all the time, but I've never really known what it was, cause I've never gotten one before.

But, I think I just got one. I was just browsing the internet and a blue screen came up with an error message like "windows has shut down because of something...blah blah blah...check hard disk...blah blah"

I restarted the laptop, and everything is fine. Everything seemed fine before it blue screened.

But....does this mean everything is NOT fine? Is there something wrong with my laptop? Is it going to keep blue screening or was it just a one time thing? It's only like a month old, it can't die on me this soon! :(

BSOD is caused by an error because Windows became unstable. It could be software conflict. BUT to be sure that it was not induced by malware, better run anti-virus and anti-spyware. If either or both do not work, malware may have turned them off. Try an online scan.

A blue screen comes up when something happens that Windows does not like. It could be something minor that wont ever happen again but it could also be something that is just starting.

Run Disk Check to have the computer scan and fix any problems with the hard drive and Windows. It is located at: Go to My Computer, Right Click on the C drive (or whatever letter your hard drive is), click on Properties, click on the Tools tab, the first option, Error Checking click on Check Now, when the box pops up check both options, then restart the computer and it will start back up and check the hard drive for problems.

BSoD usually pertains to a deadly blunders, which interior the example of it occurring, your laptop desires to surrender all opportunities of your laptop being harmed extra. So in this technique it spits out the coding and prevents your no longer undemanding rigidity to dodge from now on injury. the thought a video card made this take place would not look properly suited, something like this would take place from something so elementary as changing a gadget report (which will properly be accomplished by ability of a virulent disease). no ought to get a clean laptop, try in basic terms getting a clean no longer undemanding rigidity if the BSoD can't be resolved.

It could mean many things. It could be bad, or it could've been a fluke. Next time you see it (if you do), write down everything on that screen. Then I would suggest calling your computer's manufacturer or referring to their website for help with that particular error (because certain errors can mean certain things with specific machines). I hope this helps!

It happens if it restarted and works fine don't worry about it but you may want to run a disk check to be sure

it most often happens regularily when new hardware has been installed but isn't installed properly in the operating system, however it can happen during normal operation too.

although you might see blue screen crashes alot more frequently if a piece of hardware in your machine is failling, it doesn't necessarily mean that something IS failing if you see this error.

It's nothing to worry about. In unlucky circumstances it happens. Sometimes it could be serious, but most of the times rebooting helps.
