The battery icon says "plugged in, not charging" so I know it acknowledges the connection. Help! What can I do to fix this?

It may be time to replace your battery. Also, make sure that all of the connections are securely plugged in & that the battery isn't loose. You can remove the battery & make sure the connectors aren't dirty & try plugging it in again. Hope it works for you & it's not time for a new battery.

This is a typical symptom of a damaged power jack (the connector on the laptop that the power adapter plugs into). Sometimes, but less likely, it can be a problem with the power adapter also. On many laptops it is extremely fragile and can be damaged by tripping over the power cord.

Repairing it typically involves removing the motherboard from the laptop and soldering a replacement power jack onto it.

Try removing the battery. Wipe clean the metal contacts on the laptop and on the battery. Put the battery back and try charging again. If it's not charging still, replace your battery.
