This is going to be difficult.... it's normal to hear the hard-disk start and stop spinning once in a while. And it's not really abnormal either to hear the fan start spinning. But first you need to identify the noise..... and does it happen on regular bases and is it is it continuously the same sound, within a hour.
It's very difficult to say if it is a problem or not.
But the bios does not make noise, the only possibilities I just described.

there's the probability that you've a bearing that's failing, because the warmness improved the bearing expands from the warmness and the squeak is the loss of lubricant within the bearing. These bearings can also be within the blower motor or within the accent belt force I.E. alternator bearing, Idler pulley, belt tensioner pulley, A/c snatch meeting. Suggest you may have it looked at by way of a mechanic that has a stethoscope gadget that's designed only for that motive. I have one so I realize that they exist and I use it for simply this motive. Some noises are difficult to discover however must no longer be a assignment to a well technician.

Some laptops have an option IN the BIOS for disk speed noise reduction.. Some allow you to run the disk faster but it produces noise. My Dell has this feature. Check the disk options in your BIOS.

On new laptops with Core2 Duo processor, the noise has something to do with power saving feature, the deep sleep C4 state. Disabling this feature stops the noise but also disables the processor deep sleep state function that helps save on battery power.

what kind of noise is it? When does it happen?
The BIOS can't be the problem. BIOS is an acronym for Basic Input/Output System. BIOS is an operating system and as a simple set of code, it's not capable in and of itself to produce a noise.

bios is a program that cannot be noisy. Noise usually comes from spinning parts, like cd-roms, hard drive or cooling fans. depending on the noise you will find the problem. a damaged hdd woud go something like crrrr....crrr...crrr....crrrr...while a broken fan would do a continous noise. ok, so i cant reproduce the noises, so? go to a computer specialist and he will......

Actually there is just about nothing that you can do . I would expect that from an older computer but it is normal in computers today . But i have never heard it form a laptop/ Nothing is wrong with your laptop just most manufacturers try to eliminate it as much as possible.
