i have purchased the new keyboard, but I am unsure of how to go about removing the old one. Do you go in from the back or is there a way to pop out the keyboard through the top of the laptop?

Everytime I try to run media center and lets say "my music" my pc crashes and reboots. Also it may randomly crash whenever it feels like it. I have been swapping out parts left and right I even put new artic 5 on the cpu. The cpu is a 3.2 ghz p4. It has a really nice heatsinkfan on it, but it runs at about 55 c. Do you think that the pc overheats whenever I try to do something decently large?

I had two generic ink cartridges that didn't work, (kept getting error messages) so I bought and installed two name brand, then the next morning decided to try the generics again, worked that time. I put the tape back on the name brand cartridges and sealed them in the foil bags, will that save them till I need them?

hiya i have installed the packard bell drivers first for the scanner, then got some info to install the mustek drivers which I have done. I downloaded and tried to use Ulead Photo express and import a picture from the scanner but it came up saying could frind twain, check scanner is plugged in etc. Scanner is in and still won't work. Help

I have a friend (not very close though) who wants to sell his laptop. It's a compaq presario V 2000, and he's selling it for 300 dollars, but without a battery.

First Do you think it's a problem if I buy a battery seperately? I have heard that the value of this kind of hardware is in the battery more than anything else so it's a waste to spend 300 bucks on this...Is it true?


And two, how do I know the memory capacity of the laptop? It doesn't say on it... I checked online and nothing says how much memory it has. So if you know, what is it, and how good is this memory considered??


Finally, what's the average price for a brand new one of the same type and brand ?

I recently managed to get my pc memory down to only half full, i installed a program that would only take up a small amount of memory, i then restarted my pc then looked at my memory only to find that it had filled up fully, i later uninstalled the program and restarted the pc but it didnt seem to effect the amount of memory. i have tryed everythin on the pc to lower memory but nothing has seemed to get it back down, please dont recomend defrag cuz you need 7% memory and i only have 2% aparently, thanks x

I have two slots in one of them i put 512 and the other 1GB. Both the chips are of same speed 533mhz. I increased virtual ram to 1 and half times the memory size. I system shows 1.5 GB of memory but still it is not fast. I have intel core duo processor and xp os. Any clues ?

My husband is convinced no one has any use for this PC and simply wants to trash it. I figure that someone can use it if only to use it for the word documents. Would my local school system or even a goodwill/salvation army store accept it happily? Any other suggestions? One problem is that we cannot perform a restoration on it because we have lost the key/code to perform this function. It is a Sony PCV-230.

When windows starts up, you have the blue bar going accross under the windows xp pro logo, well, after, 1 and a half times the mechine will restart.

I turned of the restart, and then after the 1.5 times i got the blue screen of death, like i wanted.

I got the tech number 0x000000ED (0x86FSEC08, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

My question is, that we got windows XP disks, loads of them, but, the computer came with no reboot disks. I am asking, if we got the product number, can i use any of the disks to reinstall or fix whats wrong with the computer? Or dose each xp disk have its own product code?

Here is my main problem, My little sister needs to use the PC for coursework, so it needs to be sorted out, like 2 weeks ago, and I think there are some parts of her work on the computer she eneds to get to, so i cant do a general reinstall, i need to repair it all.

I have 894.2GB or RAM on my laptop. And some games say they need 1GB to work. But if I have 2GB flash drive and using 1.5GB of it as readyboost. Will that make it where I can play those games?
