my laptop is going really slow and i want to restore it like when it was new out the box

If you do a restore, you will wipe your hard drive. Try defragging first, then clean your registry, OFTEN. that should speed things up for you.

Yes, just get the restore CD that came with the laptop (or that you created using the program that creates it on the laptop) and boot from that.

Make sure you've backed all that you want to keep up first though.

defrag first, get rid of adware and spyware (adaware works well for adware, pc doctor (starter edition) for spyware, remove any programs you dont use often, of that doesnt work, then reformat, that should take care of anything and everything that could possibly be slowing it down.
