ok, here the thing. worked fine last night. then this morning boot up it just freezes at the post screen showing the phoenix logo. I try the delelte button to try to get into bios and it wont go. It is frozen. I CANNOT EVEN REACH WINDOWS SO DON'T RECOMMEND GOING INTO SAFE MODE WHEN I CAN'T EVEN GET THERE. sorry, i'm a little mad. anyways, i checked all fans are working, i sprayed it out, all cables are hooked up and everything is secured in. I tryed swaping out memory but still it freezes. I still get a beep when it loads up though. I tried unplugging the dvd rom and it still freezes.

Looking into buying an Apple iMAC Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz laptop - any reviews for me? Would probably get the windows connection for it too...does it work well together?

Have also been looking at the Pink Sony Vaio and the 14inch HP laptop but am unsure as to what to get.....I love the pink one but it is SO overpriced and doesn't have extras like installed webcam etc. The HP looks good too and is quite good in price but I think the mac would be nice to try with the reviews I have heard and seen. I have never used mac form but I am quite computer literate and don't believe I will have any problems picking it up. I love the look of the little mac laptop and it looks like a fun setup but I am scared of the future and if the apple setup becomes outdated and non-compatible with future windows things......tips please?! :)

If the mobo is made for 4200 ddr2 533mhz ram would a 5400 ddr2 667Mhz work? Only reason i'm asking cuz i've found ram that is cheaper for the 5400 ddr2. Would it just slow the 5400 ddr2 to a 4200ddr2 cuz im ok with that.

I currently have a CoolIt Freezone TEC CPU cooler and that seems to work very well to cool my overclocked QX6700 CPU (currently running at 3.66 ghz), however I hope to push it further, possibly up to or past the 4.0 ghz mark.

Apparently there is an option on the TCM for freezone's cooler to sacrafice quietness for colder temperatures, so I might be able to push it further with no problem.

However I have heard that the Vapochill LS seems to be a VERY powerful cooling system (someone has used it cool a qx6700 processor overclocked to the mid 4.0ghz zone), although it looks to me to be a bit bulky and expensive (over $400 more than the freezone).

Which is a better liquid cooling system for the price? The CoolIt Freezone CPU cooler? or the Vapochill LS?

i wanna get the Dimension 9200, but then im reading that the inspiron desktop 530 is good. I went to dell and added up my system, they both were about the same price $1500. Im not a gamer, but i have alot of music,movies,documents and stuff. So what is more quieter,faster and has the least amount of problems. Thanks So Much

i have a external 80 GB USB Western digital hard drive, i have tried installing windows XP there before it wont boot.

When i got to my BIOS boot screen i push ESC so i can choose my external drive, then after that i see the HD activity light flash a few times then it just stops booting.

Whats wrong?

Ok ive backed up all y files and it took me ages.
Im trying to format my disk but it wont let me. everytime i press start it says:
"windows cannot forat this drive, quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure that no windows is displaying the contents of this drive. then try formatting again"

What should i do?

I'm 98% sure that I won't get an answer that will help me with this, but anyways I have a problem with Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32 compatible (WDM) driver, I've tried to reinstall it many times with Add Hardware, but it always shows as DEVICE CANNOT START (Code 10) or something. I reinstall and reinstall but it always does that. How can I fix this?

I have a HP desktop with windows xp. I had to use a system restore and lost all my data. No big deal. I don't really keep anything important on the computer other than kids pictures. I got those back. I did have to get a pcanywhere program I use for work reinstalled-a pain as I had to get someone who has better things to do to do it. A friend of mine put some program Getdataback or something rather (I don't know much about computer lingo) on and got the pictures that he could find. Now my computer has a d drive that is completely full. I keep getting a low memory message. In the middle of working sometimes programs go black I get memory error messages. I want to delete some of the files on that drive but it has some partition on it and I can't get access to it. I can't even see what is on there? Is there anyway to get on that drive and erase stuff so my computer will get memory back? I follow instructions well but am pretty computer illiterate.

My dumb sister got mad at me for nothing and using both her hands she kept hitting my laptop with her hands open on the keyboard. She pounded this thing like it was a tiger attacking her. Now i turn on the computer, get the ACER logo loading screen and then i get the black screen with this: _ thing blinking. Thats how it starts up, the _ blinks 5 times or so and then windows starts booting up. But now that _ keeps on blinking forever and then i get a messege saying Disk error press any key to restart. And then i do and it comes back to that again.

Can it be fixed? Did i loose all my memory?!! Please helpp im furious right now!

My computer crahed recently, and i reinstalled xp. since then, i hear no sound from my speakers. I think the problem is not my speakers, but my sound card. i have gone into BIOS and made sure my sound card is enabled, I have tried installing drivers. nothing seems to work. BTW, my computer is a DELL dimension B110 w/ integrated sound and graphics

I leave it on all the time. I always turn off the screen when i'm not using it. Is leaving it on all the time really bad for it? It takes a while once it starts up to get to normal speed, so I hate to turn it off. Any opinions?

hey I was trying to run rise of nations gold but it tells me
rise of nations cannot run with the monitor display set to 256 color
please change monitor display to 16-bit or greater.

I am running vista and have radeon 7500 mobility radeon card.

how do I change it

in display settings it says
medium 16 bit
high24 bit
highest 32 bit

I tried all these but it doesn't work
