I'm 98% sure that I won't get an answer that will help me with this, but anyways I have a problem with Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32 compatible (WDM) driver, I've tried to reinstall it many times with Add Hardware, but it always shows as DEVICE CANNOT START (Code 10) or something. I reinstall and reinstall but it always does that. How can I fix this?

From Microsoft's Help and Support web site....

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123

Code 10
If the device has a FailReasonString value in its hardware key, that string appears as the error message. The driver or enumerator puts this registry string value there. If there is no FailReasonString in the hardware key, you receive the following error message:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Recommended resolution

Device failed to start. Click Update Driver to update the drivers for this device. On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.

I think there is driver incompatibility issue with your computer. Simply go to 'Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Computer management -> Device manager'. Now find here 'Sound, video and game controllers', right-click on your sound device and select 'Properties'. Now click 'Driver' tab and check that what driver is currently installed and it is working properly or not... Update the audio driver now still the device says it is working properly because sometime the driver might be causing this problem. Don't forget to restart you computer after successfully installed new driver. Hope,it helped.
