If I have a 250 gb harddrive, and one 130 gb partition, and another 100 gb partition, can i dual boot vista? the 130 gb partition has MS XP, but if I get vista, can i install and dual boot in the 100 gb partition? Will vista recognize the second partition and install there? Do i need to intsall drivers and everything again on the new vista? thanks

Hi I have recorded a few thigs on my digital camera. I downloaded it to my compuer and burnt them to CD- RW discs. Now I want to convert them to DVD format or burn it to a DVD so I can play it on my DVD player. How do I go about doing this.

What does, "... graphics with up to 623MB of video memory — 128MB dedicated..."
And, Video memory: 623MB
Video memory type: Partially shared ?

Does it mean it basically has 128 MB & takes the rest from the system or does it mean it does have 128 MB and can hold up to 623 MB?
I would be grateful in reasonable responses.

i can't play any of my games, i have directx 9 installed and still nothing, then i went to 'run' and typed in dxdiag to see if direct 3d acceleration was enabled but i can't enable it because it says it is 'not avaliable'. what can i do? it never did this before i got my computer reformated. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just installed a nVidia GeForce 4 MX440 graphics card (64Mb RAM 8xAGP) and my PC turns on (the fans turn) but the monitor stays blank and the PC beeps 10 times and the fans turn until I turn it off.

My PC comfortably meets the recommended requirements but when running games the frame rate is juddering.

I tried turning down all the display options to the lowest settings but still hasn't sorted the problem.

I am downloading some movies thru internet and i tried to burn them to the cds. But after burning and when i played those cds in the player the quality of the video has been reduced. I have download DVD rips and the video has very good quality while playing in my computer, whereas the same video in the cds got reduced quality! i am thinking that burning them with low speed (ex: 4X, 8X) may give the exact quality of video in cds. I previously burned the cds with 24x and 32x speed. Give some advices how to burn them without loosing the quality of video.

I'd Imagine the Simple answer is 40% because the upgrade Processor speed is 40% quicker, Doesn't always work out like that though! An example of a speed differance would be greaty appreciated. Thanks.

I hav an acer laptop! It was working extremely fast since yesterday! Yesterday i installed a few updates frm ma anti virus and then i downloaded a few smiley programs for ma msn. Today when i started ma laptop it was working reallly sloww! Plz tell me why. Its takin ages for a program to open and i cant figure out why! plz tell me the reason behind this problem and wat i can do to resolve it. i asked this before and got only one answer.
currently, as i type, the sound is randomly starting up then stopping then starting.
im aware i need a new harddrive.
i have my data backed up on an external harddrive anyways.
is there any way to stop it from making noise?
its bugging the hell outta me, seriously.
its really extremely loud, and sometimes it just keeps getting louder, more or less like an engine reving up.
sometimes its accompanied by a rattling or other sounds.
i have no clue how to open the computer to clean it.
thats the advice ive been reading.
i also dont feel like spending another cent on this laptop.
otherwise, i'd buy another harddrive.
when i move the laptop is normally when it starts making noise [unless its like now, which its randomly making noise.]
is there a connection to this?
or something i can do to make it not do this?
or at least something whereas when it starts to make it stop?

any advice before i take a sledgehammer to this piece of ****?
