try and do a system restore. I think that would work. It could be a semi-last resort.
Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore
try and go back to the day when it was working fine before you installed the smiley program. It should be fine. Don't go back to far or you'll lose your files and data.

Restore your system back to the day before adding anything that you put in your question. Then add them one at a time, do one a day..... When you start slowing down again you will know which one is the culprit. And you restore back to the day before and leave that one off... Before doing the restore, run a spy delete program and defrag your system to see if that will help... if it does you don't need to do the restore.
To do a restore go to Start, programs, accessories, system tools and System restore and choose a date in a dark color... that is a restore point.
You won't lose any data... it just restores your system files..

Was it Smiley Central?? Horrid programme full of spyware.
Try running a full scan with something like Housecall or Panda - and run Spybot to get rid of all the nasties.

uncertain with regard to the 1st one, sound such as you like the geek squad out on that, yet your very own pc wont p.c.. up immediate except it has a immediate card outfitted in, some routers additionally comprise a USB immediate receiver so examine your router field to work out if there is one in there. If there is you will ought to apply the CD with it to place in the drivers for it on your laptop, if no longer attempt depending on Ebay or your community pc shops (curry's, laptop international, etc.) and ask for a USB immediate Reciever on your very own pc, the sales assistants ought to comprehend what you advise.
