You deleted your drivers when you formatted your PC. It looks like you may have missed reinstalling them after installing the OS. Try installing the graphics driver.

go to windows update , get all critical, and non critical updates, even if you do not know what they are , or do. to get to the non-critical ones, you click on the custom tab, and not the express tab, get everything , in all catagory's.

also do yourself a big favor go to the maker of your computer (assuming its not hand built) , and get thier updates as well. if its hand built go to the maker of each componant of the system(video card) sound card , ethernet card .. and such , get thier updates.

by the time you get this far you should be good to go , however, to continue ...
go got divx.com, and download the latest video codecs for video ( i know has nothing to do with games )
standard disk maintinance.... disk clean up, then defrag , go to grisoft.com get anti spy, anti virus, and malcoius software trials (they are free for home use)
run each scan seperatly , when done with each , then go to
ccleaner.com, and get this free program as well run it , it will pick up where windows disk cleanup left off . also there is a issues button on the left where the scan start is , go there , run that scan as well, and repair all the issues your dll's, and other files along with registry issues..

one last thing i tell everyone , back up items onto cd-rom (drivers , updates , programs, pistures , music, movies, files ) you wont regret it someday when your computer goes down, and you dont lose everything ..
