everytime I close my laptop the image of the desktop changes to the original. I've tried to change it several times but it always changes back

If you are running Windows XP you probably have your Active Desktop enabled, or you might have set your wallpaper from an Internet browser. If these are the case, right click on the desktop and go to properties and set your wallpaper that way instead of right clicking a pic from the Internet and clicking Set as wallpaper. If your active desktop is giving you trouble (which I'm convinced is the only reason it exists) simply disable it and set your wallpaper as described above.
If you are running MacOS then throw it out of the window and get a PC.
