i want to get a macbook, but my wallet wants me to get the older model, not sure if it would be an investment to get the older one or save up to get the new one

In the dumpster. My company uses Macs, and the G4s were the most unreliable computer anybody has ever had. Almost all of them have gone bad. The Intel Macbooks are much faster, much more reliable and you can add Windows to them.

Try Apple's online refurb store for cheaper priced Macs that are generally better than new Macs, internally that is, most will have cosmetic flaws. Lowendmac.com list sites that have low priced Macs or if you want to see which sites are have better service, run a search at resellerratings.com for the model Mac you want.

well i would certainly look on ebay for a used one in good order they can go really cheap even the new ones when you get really in to that type of shopping you can get lucky pretty often!

but overall its a great machine so used would not botter me a bit since they depreciate a lot!
