I am ready to switch over to the Mac world to do my music composition and DJing and live performance. (I've used PC laptops in the past). I can't figure out if I really NEED to get the 2.33GHz Macbook Pro (15.4 inch screen), or whether a 2.0GHz Macbook (13.3 inch screen) would be good enough. I prefer the smaller, lighter weight ones, and also its cheaper. But I don't want to shell out $1,000+ and end up with something that's just a little bit too slow.

Anyone out there use Macbooks for DJing, music production (Cubase, garageband, Logic, etc), or recording? Do you know how much speed & RAM is actually necessary? I don't plan on running 32 tracks of virtual instruments, maybe 8 or 9 tracks of virtual instruments at once, then 2 or 3 audio tracks, plus maybe a live track synth. I doubt I would do any live audio processing with it, as I have stand-alone effects processors for the guitar and bass guitar that will be on stage with me.

Has anyone made the jump to a large LCD panel for their computer needs? Dell sells at 27" but its very pricey. What are all you guys using for monitors bigger than 22"

Are you viewing it up close (2 to 3 feet)?

Are your eyes strained?

Is the images pixelated?

I have connected my tape player to my pc using the Din socket on the rear of the tape player to the line input socket on my pc.
I downloaded 'Audiograbber as suggested in a recent question, but I am getting a lot of unwanted noise when I try to record. I am not sure if I am using Audiograbber correctly as on playback the volume appears to be very low.
Any advice on noise reduction or on using 'Audiograbber' would be much appreciated. I can be contacted by email using noagenda1234@hotmail.co.uk

I put a DVD into my comp and I wanted to copy the files on it, but I dragged the icon NEW DVD in a folder, instead of dragging the files in it. Now all I can find in te folder is a shortcut to the drive, but it doesn't work. The biggest problem is that I can't take out the DVD from the device... can you help me?

I've lookes on ebay for all sorts of motherboards etc. I still cannot find what i'm looking for...I'm not to picky on the brand, though prefer msi, asus, asrock, abit, ecs...I want one that supports 4-5 pci slots, and 1 agp, I don't want that new Pci-E slot, because the cards for that are overpriced I think, because there newer. I wan't this motherboard to be able to support something like 1.8Ghz. or 2.66Ghz. of either Intel P4 or AMD?

have recently brought a hp cartridge of internet, but it was one that they had refilled themselves. the colours were rubbish but the cartridge was cheap. are there any sites that sell compatible cartriges that are as good as the originals?

Here's what I know:
-I have an on-board sound card with an up-to-date driver
-Device manager says everything is working properly
-It is enabled in BIOS
-Nothing is muted
-My speakers work (tested them with iPod)& they have power -I've tried to connect them to every plug-in, including the headphones

The computer was a gift from someone after mine crashed. It has never had sound. I miss my music. Please help!

I have freed up around 10 gigs of music defraged my computer run clean up and still have only 5gb left in my c drive. What Do i do! I am suppossed to have 20 gigs avaliable in my C drive.

All of a sudden it will lock up. If there is music playing, it will sound like a CD skipping, repeating every half second or so. The mouse is frozen, Ctrl, Alt, Del doesn't work. I have to hold down the power button and reboot. Sometimes it does it during boot up. It only started happening since I moved to my new apartment. I have it plugged into a surge protector and everything. It seems like it only happens when I try to get my WLAN to work, which is not working properly. One time, I touched it and I got a shock, and it happened right away. I have rugs in my new apartment, but shouldn't the surge protector prevent that? let me know what you think.

I put office 2003 on my home PC recently and it has made my system run real slow. If I uninstall office 2003 will office 2000 still be there and nothing lost? Or if I did a system restore to a couple of day ago would that get rid of it?

I have recently bought an external DVD Writer but whenever I try to make a DVD it doesn't play back properly - it's all black and when you move it on it's all green and upside down. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
