I used to be a pre-board security guard. You will experience more elecctromagnetic fields on a 45 min flight then you will walking through the walk through and getting wanded. It will NOT effect you or your child! Also don't worry about X-ray radiating from the x-ray systems either. They use less x-ray inside to check the bags than a system that x-rays your body.

No, neither the Hand held or even the Walk-Through metal detectors are dangerous to pregnant women. However, if you aren't comfortable, just ask the screener and they will give you a pat down instead.
