I put a DVD into my comp and I wanted to copy the files on it, but I dragged the icon NEW DVD in a folder, instead of dragging the files in it. Now all I can find in te folder is a shortcut to the drive, but it doesn't work. The biggest problem is that I can't take out the DVD from the device... can you help me?

Looks like you started a new DVD and did not follow through. The drive normally unlocks when DVD write is complete, it's safety mechanism.
Now you have 2 options, there is a small whole on the drive some where that's for reset. If you put a pin through it will reset drive and open will work. Other simpler way is restart the PC and just after restart press open before windows is up.

the device will have a small pin hole on the front - stick a paperclip in it and push - this will open the device and give you back your DVD disk. Then i suggest you start over.

ok .. so u installed a new dvd drive in ur pc and it dont work .... check ur cabling and jumper ..
