I'm from the UK and brought a sony vaio about a year ago! I've only recently seen a movie which is not available here and want to buy it from the states. How do i find out,(without ripping it apart) if my laptop will be able to play it? (I've already gone through my manual) Thanks!

Toshiba A135-S4487:
• Intel Core 2 Duo T5500, 220GB hard drive, 2GB of DDR2 memory 1300dlls

HP DV6265US:
• Intel Core 2 Duo T5500, 160GB hard drive, 2GB of DDR2
1150 dlls

In general they are really similar, only minimal differences like the camera or more gb of hdd, but which one do you think is better in all ways???

i am trying to install an samsung mp3 player on my laptop, it comes with a disc . however the computer says it needs windows xp to install(i have vista premium).
i am also having trouble connecting my tomtom go510,the disc installs but the actuall satnav will not install. the computer suggests that i go to manufactures website and download driver software,but it still does not seem to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was reading a very nice detailed report on partitioning the harddrive ona new pc so that it can run fast even after tons of stuff is loaded on to it. my pc is kinda old but I was wondering could I partition it. and how do I do it?

All of a sudden the display on my computer monitor is much larger than it was before.

The screen saver was on and when I moved the mouse to bring back the desktop the screen went black for a moment and then when it came back was displaying larger icons and all programs are taking up much more space on the screen.

I have checked all the display settings, I have restarted the computer, I have turned the monitor off and back on. I have shut down the whole system, let it sit for 5 minutes and then turned it all back on. No change.

Any ideas?

when i play a movie, they are so quite, everything else is loud, very oud. but movies are at like 30% volume. i tried different players, all the same? is it a driver or somtheing?

I have desktop supported with pentuim 3.06 GHZ , 512 RAM and winXP Pro SP2 .... Hi

I have external speakers attached to my pc which I purchased seperatly. Stupidly when tidying up my pc i deleted the software for them (silly I know!) anyways I can no longer find the installation disk that came with my speakers. Is there any way I can make them work again? Is it possible to download software that will make them work. or is it a case of lost software useless speakers??

I have a 533mhz ram card unused and I wanted to give it to my friend, but he doesn't know whether he has 533 or 667 mhz ram and he asked me how to find out but I realized I don't know how to myself. I tried dxdiag, but it doesn't say, and I couldn't find anything in device manager.

I have a Dual Core Intel E6600 processor running at 2.4Ghz, my MotherBoard is Asus P5N-E SLI , i have stock cooling.
I want to overclock my CPU so i went into the BIOS and increased the multiplier from 9 to 10 but above the muliplier the # didnt change, it stayed at 2.4Ghz, and i thought that was ok, so i saved and exited the bios...and when i load my windows and run CPU-Z it sais that my processor is still running at 2.4Ghz and the multiplier is still 9...what am i doing wrong?
