Yes it is possible. First you need 1 GB of Ram. You MUST upgrade your Memory to 1GB first.

possible yes,, but is it a good idea no. I read an article in MAximum PC anyway They state that there are little oddties when it comes to upgrading,, also they were not impressed and too many bugs...Windows Vista also has more services running then XP which means your PC will be slower
Stick with XP ,, unless someone gives you a free copy of vista to play with...
VISTA is just marketing hype,, stick with what you got until you buy a laptop that already has it...

the requirements for windows vista home basic are:
A 1 GHz processor
512 MB of RAM
A 20 GB hard drive with 15 GB of free space
A DVD-Rom drive
if you wish to run home premium with the aero feature, you will need 1 gig of ram and a 128mb video card with 40gig hd instead of 20. thats about it, hope it helps.

Hey there!
You know there is absolutely no easyway to break this down to you... BUT.... NO!!!
You need a so called "super machine" to run Windows Vista. XP is the best you can do for your baby... sorry.
Windows Vista requirements:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/systemrequirements.mspx
If you really want Vista, just save up and buy a new PC.
Good luck! :)
(my 10 points please)
