All of a sudden the display on my computer monitor is much larger than it was before.

The screen saver was on and when I moved the mouse to bring back the desktop the screen went black for a moment and then when it came back was displaying larger icons and all programs are taking up much more space on the screen.

I have checked all the display settings, I have restarted the computer, I have turned the monitor off and back on. I have shut down the whole system, let it sit for 5 minutes and then turned it all back on. No change.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

(Best answer will be a tough one - I'll probably go with whoever gets the most thumbs up)

the screen saver probably runs at a lower resolution then what your run your desktop at. This sometimes happens even in games when they crash.

Right click on desktop > properties and then go to settings tab. Set resolution to 1024 x 768. The higher you go, the smaller the icons.

Maybe try going to the bottom of this page, on the right side. Mine has a plus sign inside a circle, next to that is a 100%. Just point mouse to it, should say (change loom level). Just click your mouse a few times to adjust it. Hope this helps.

Have you tryed right clicking on your mouse when you are at your background where averything is, and go to Display Modes, then go to Highg Color or True Color ( whichever you use ) and pick out the right one for you. I use the True color and 800 by 600. Try doing that one.

You may need to reinstall the graphics driver, check the resolution, it should be at least 1024 x 768.

Or, try using System Restore and use a restore point when you know the computer was acting normally.

**Give the ten points to someone other than me...
they were all good suggestions**
Main thing is, you got it fixed.
