Check and make sure the mute box is not checked. The little speaker in the bottom right of your computer screen will have a red circle with a bar across it. Right click on the speaker and un-click the mute box. Also click on the Open Volume Control and make sure that the all of the volume controls are set at least mid way.
Make sure that the speakers are turned on and plugged in.
Make sure that the connection to the computer is plugged into the line out connection.
You can check to verify that the speakers are working by plugging a headphone set into the line out of the computer. If you can hear what you have playing on the computer then the speakers aren't working. If you can't hear anything try the other plugs. If none of that works then it may be the computers sound card and that will take a trip to your dealer.

I'm no computer expert, but I've had some experience with this problem. I've heard that many times (especially if you own a laptop) you could have accidentaly bumped the keyboard mute button, or another application has the sound muted (I think). Sometimes, maybe, your speaker/headphone cord might have fallen out of the sound card, or got plugged in to the wrong port. The speaker itself might be muted as well, or off. Hope this helps.
