my computer is somewhat has both formats,,

my drive C: w/c is 15 g is FAT

while my drive D is 30+ g is NFTS,, i'm using it, and it seems ok.

is this tolerable, i mean, is there probability that my sys would not suite its full performance bcoz of the difference,, like in gaming, or in other applications,, or could this difference crash my system?

I had purchase a harddisk of seagate 160 gb . I want to check that my harddisk is new or old.So how do i do this? Is there any sign , serial no. ,model no. or any other thing by which i find it out ?

My PC details are:
SD RAM, 2 memory slots.
Currently 1 memory slot has 256MB RAM and 1 empty memory slot is available.

My MB is an ASUS A8V, and I want to add more hard drives, but I've filled all my SATA slots -- and I'd rather go SATA than IDE. So I bought a Rosewill RC-211, which is apparently a PCI-E card. Can I use it on that motherboard?

I've recenly moved house and when I try to get my cds and pc cds to work in my cd drive, they won't. The green light comes and goes off. Not sure how I managed to damage it. If it is damaged and I get a new one,could someone write here on how to install it? Be very detailed as I'm not ovelry up on computers.

are my frames per second in games such at counter strike source directly related to my video card only? I used to get around 110 with my nvidia geforce 7800 gtx video card, and then i installed vista ultimate and now i have around 30 or 40 :(. Do i need to upgrade to a video card like the gtx 8800? or is it just because of vista and this directx 10 thing that i dont understand? what do you think i should do? and will the new video card help with the cpu usage or is that just my cpu?

well my computer has been messing up, and i have to reinstall widow, but everytime i reinstall it, i have my old accounts (like 3 past installments) and i have all the space, recently i been having low memory, and this past time i reinstalled it, i dont have any sound (something about no ADI codec is installed) i want to start from scratch, but i want to know if i have to insert my installation cd, to delete EVERYTHING, or is there an easier way, maybe from my desktop menu to where i can delete my computer files, and reinstall windows as if i just bought it? HELP!

I can't even open files on it because it is saying that it needs to be formatted. What do i do to fix it? also how do i put written files on a cd-r that has songs already on it i know i can over-write them but it is saying no cd is in the drive, yet it will play the songs help me please :)

ok so i just got windows ultimate and my fps died lol on counter strike source. I know i have heard something about it being related to the direct x 10 and not being updated yet which will hopefully come out with the first service pack? is that right? also if i upgrade my videocard to like the nvidie 8800 or something that says directx10 made and what not, will that really help or no?

I am hoping to stay within $600-$750. I'd like to be able to listen to & store lots of music, watch vidio clips/movies, play games, save photos, do reserch, possibly vidio editing I guess (that would be more for my bf) I want it to be fast and virus free also, of course. What should i get, and what kind of upgrades would I need? Thank you.
P.S: As you can probably tell, I don't know squat about computers. So for those of you who do- If you could please dumb down your answers a bit so I understand more, it would be appreciated. =)

I have 95 mb of RAM. Will adding a hard drive, I have room for it, speed up my computer? Compaq Presario, modell 5050 And keep all the smart a__ answers to yourself, I don't have time for that nonsense. Or where can I get more memory, I only have 2 memory slots.
