i want to get one for my daughter computer but don't know which one is the best way to go

Well it is like this. If you have some one to install it for you then you can get an internal. If your computer has USB then the external is ok. The best hing about externals is that they can be taken with anywhere. and basically just need to plug in to the USB port. Hope this helps. Will.

The performance, quality & featrues are virtually the same in both.
The external models will be a little more expensive, however, (as the first answerer explained) they do not require any skill to install.
If you will have to pay someone to install the internal unit your overall cost may be less by choosing an external model.
