Think about the small amount of space you have inside your laptop and all the heat some of the components generate. The fan simply kicks in when things are getting hot.

Newer laptops that use the Turion X2 or the Core 2 Duo usually run much cooler than laptops from just a couple years ago. So the design of yours matters a lot too.

Be sure to go out to the manufacturer's website and get the latest BIOS revision. Dell, for example, usually has a lot of laptop fan issues that are worked out in later BIOS versions.

it depends on the load that ur laptop is taking. i mean if u r excecuting a program that re. higher ram then fan will run fast so as the laptop may remain in cool condition so as to prevent ur hardware.

try buying a laptop stand so ur fan works better
sometimes too much heat causes excess demand of ur fan

The laptop is getting very hot and needs to cool itself.

Try a laptop cooling pad if its bothersome.

its when your procesor gets to many things at once or your power sorce may be acting up spray a verry verry small amount of wd40 on the spindol if you dont want that whining noise
