ok so i just got windows ultimate and my fps died lol on counter strike source. I know i have heard something about it being related to the direct x 10 and not being updated yet which will hopefully come out with the first service pack? is that right? also if i upgrade my videocard to like the nvidie 8800 or something that says directx10 made and what not, will that really help or no?

any other suggestions ?

First, there's no such thing as directx10. there are no games that use it, there are no REAL drivers. It's a paper release, nothing else. Once games/apps come out that actually use it, it (directx10) will be RE-released (fixed). A OLD game like counter strike is NOT using directx10. Sad part is you said what the error is.. VISTA.

If you really want to play 3d games, use Xp NOT vista.
