all of a sudden the wireless network conection disabled and then i saw nothin exept my display background then it went back to normal...

was it about to crash?

Is there a catch to this deal? It seems very cheap, but the components seem pretty good (though not cutting edge).

I don't want to play the latest 3D games on the laptop, so is this a good laptop for other tasks?

And does it have a glossy screen? That is one of my buying criteria.

In my home I have one computer in the computer room hooked up to the all-in-one printer. A room-mate has a computer in his room and we bought a hand-wired router, not wireless and we have the internet hooked up to his computer through the router. How can I set it up so he can print things out on the computer in the main computer room? In a nutshell, how can you use 2 hand-wired routed internet computer to print off one printer? pc's have like 3.0ghz etc whereas laptops have 1.7ghz 1.66ghz etc

Best buy suggested cleaning any dust blocking the fan and adding some adding some silver compound to cool, but that didn't work. We don't want to buy a new processor and motherboard if we don't have to, but we are having a hard time thinking about what else might be causing the overheating. We have 2 fans and it pulled out with pleanty of air flow. The only way he can keep it on is to turn off the security feature that cuts it off when the temp is too high! He is a computer programmer and built this computer himself 5 years ago which is still more powerful than most sold today, so I really want to help him figure out what the problem is! I appreciate any and all suggestions!

My wife leaned onto her laptop when it was closed and when she opened it the monitor was broken. It's cracked and there is like an 'inkblot' and crack lines extending from the lower corner. It only obscures about half the screen so her boss said she can still use it to work if she is able to see the workpage. I'm just wondering if this is dangerous? What are the screens made out of and is she going to be exposed to anything ?

I bought my HP almost EIGHT years ago and I have never had one problem with it. But recently I have heard bad things about HP's . I'm only looking for a new computer because this one doesnt have all the new upgrades I need and it only has two usb hubs. Any suggestions on what brand I should buy. I bought a Samsung Laptop a few months ago, have barely even used it. My son was messing around with it and evidently dropped it, stepped on it or something. The display screen has a big black area on it, an everything to the right and below the spot is blank. Can this be fixed?
