what CPU is good like centrino duo dual core dual core 2 AMD 64 or which one.
I will be using the laptop for general internet use listening to music watching movies and maybe even game like fifa 07 i have a budget of £1000.

one what ever you do do not get a DELL!!!! lol and choose a high ram and high hardrive for example at least 512ram and 60gb harddrive also the cpu clock speed etc...

In my sense the best bang of the buck at this moment is AMD Turion 64 X2 Processors. These processors are both dual core and 64 bit. Only Core 2 Duo processors are as powerful as these but in compare to the processing power of AMD, these processors cost much.
Just go to www.dell.com. Select Dell Inspiron 1501. In my sense this is a very good machine if your budget is limited.
You will be able to play almost all recent games with it.

you should try www.tigerdirect.com that processor is good and also see that you have enough memory on it, at least 1 gig, also the video card and the wireless network card.

I think that you should go get the Sony VAIO that is intel core duo.
Just to let you know I went to the website and saw that this laptop is £999 though. However I know that this laptop is very good quality.

Just make sure of:
Hard drive is fast, like 5400 or 7200rpm
Certified for Vista (this takes into account a lot of specs like memory)

Go for the AMD processor, its way better when it comes to gaming. And make sure it has plenty of RAM, 1gb and above, if not games will be choppy.
